Early Issues of Scientific American

Scientific American - This is a small collection of 4 issues dating from 1853 to 1900. Originally published as a weekly “Advocate of Industry , and a Journal of Scientific, Mechanical and Other Improvements” by Munn and Company, the magazine was 8 pages and it’s subscription was $2 per year. This was in the 1840’s and 1850‘s.By the end of the 19th century, the magazine had grown to 16 pages, cost $3 per year, and contained many illustrations, including both drawings and photographs. This collection contains:
