Pheasants Their Lives and Homes

Book - Pheasants Their Lives and Homes by William Beebe was published in 1926 and this is a first edition, in fact, it is a rare first edition in that many pages are uncut. The two volume set is an illustrated study of the pheasants of the world based on an earlier work by Beebe. There are 64 full page illustrations, most of which are in color and from the paintings of six artists: G.E. Lodge, A. Thorburn, L.A. Fuertes, H. Jones, C.R. Knight and H. Gronvold. Each illustration has an extended caption given in the introductory list. Volume 1 has 257 pages and volume 2 has 309 pages including an extensive index. The set is in excellent condition. $250.00
