C.1770 Kettle Tipper or Idleback for fireplace

This is a very rare fireplace item.
The tipper would hang from a crane to hold a cast iron gooseneck kettle with the spout riveted under the tipper handle. When hot water was needed one would need only to press down on the handle, this would tip the kettle down to pour out water.
This tipper is very delicately made of hand wrought iron. The square hanger at the top of the center bar swivels, the other end of the bar is attached to the double hangers which hold the kettle, this pivets for tipping. The handle is a very delicate S shape with a wonderful mushroom shaped form on the end.
This is one of the more delicate tippers I have been privileged to handle.
Measures approximately 22 inches n length.
