Maine Maritime Museum – Bath
Much of the maritime history of Maine can be found here, especially as it relates to the rich heritage of Bath and the Kenebec River.
Maine Historical Society – Portland
The Maine Historical Society’s resources include a library, the Center
for Maine History, and the Historic Wadsworth-Longfellow House.
Old York Historical Society – York

Owls Head Transportation Museum – Owl’s Head
A very large collection of pioneer era transportation machines including airplanes, automobiles, bicycles, ,motorcycles, carriages, steam engines, etc. From the earliest prototypes to our own time. The museum contains some very rare examples and all are maintained in immaculate, working condition.
Penobscot Marine Museum – Searsport
Much of Maine’s rich maritime heritage is preserved here. Thirteen historic buildings with many regionally important maritime objects and research library.
Portland Museum of Art – Portland
Maine’s oldest arts institution. Founded in 1882, its collections contain extensive art works by major American artists of the 18th through the 20th Centuries.
